Top 5 most talented Nigerian actresses

by Daniel Nkado

True that the Nigerian movie industry, aka Nollywood, has had quite a number of less-than-impressive movie projects to its name, but that still doesn’t mean the industry is completely lacking of talent.

In fact, these 5 actresses has continuously proven there is a stock of talent lying deep in Nollywood.

5. Rita Dominic

Admittedly, this style goddess did not start out as strong as she is today. In fact, she is one of the Nigerian actresses whose journey has been remarkably impressive. Rita has grown in the industry, enough that she can compete with any other actress in terms of talent today. Her super-impressive delivery in The Meeting (2012) has also let us know that she is versatile as well.

4. Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi

Funlola is such a professional actress, completely in a league of her own. Here is the woman who even when the TV show Tinsel turned unappetizingly insipid, we still kept watching because of her.

3. Eucharia Anunobi

This is one actress who never fails to stand out in any movie she is in. Whether a religious housewife or an insatiable cougar, Eucharia is sure to excellently deliver.

2. Nse Ikpe-Etim

This actress brims with talent. The ease with which Nse moves between roles is unparalleled.

1. Mercy Johnson

One particularly amazing thing about Mercy Johnson is that she is entertaining to watch, endowed with the talent of transforming even the most boring of movies into something exciting.

Also, her willingness to go the extra length to deliver a role is legendary.

Give her a good director who knows how to fully utilize that hard work and Mercy might be on her way to becoming the Nigerian Meryl Streep.
