8 signs that show you are truly in love

by Staff writer

There is no denying the fact that love is a beautiful thing. However, sometimes, you may think you are in love when actually you are not.

These 8 signs will confirm that it is really LOVE that is happening to you and not infatuation, or mere lack of sex, or even hunger.

1. It goes beyond the sex

True love operates on a much higher level of connection. Simply put, if all you think about when you remember the person is the sex, then it can’t possibly be love.

2. You don’t want it to end

If you’re really in love with someone, you should be able to picture your future with the person. Whether you are thinking of moving to a new city, having children, spending a year abroad, or achieving any of your life goals, you should be thinking of doing these things with the person by your side.

3. You feel secure

To be in love, you don’t have to be obsessive about your loved one; in fact, quite the opposite is true. If you have a healthy loving relationship, then you should be able to spend time apart from your loved one without obsessing over what he or she is doing every five seconds. However, though, if you can go a whole week, or month, without your loved one once crossing your mind, then it may be a whole new ball game.

4. You value their opinion

If you’re really in love with a person, you are going to consider their opinions unique and highly relevant. You would value whatever he or she thinks, whether it’s about your next career move or just the political situation in your country.

5. You are willing to make sacrifices

Whether it is something as simple of letting go of the TV remote or more serious like having to relocate to another city, love makes making sacrifices a lesser deal.

6. You easily forgive his/her flaws

If you’re really in love, then you should be able to realize your partner is human and has flaws. You’re going to be comfortable admitting that your loved one can be a bit selfish or isn’t the world’s greatest listener, but that it doesn’t matter to you.

7. You enjoy their company

If you’re really in love, then you should be able to goof around and laugh with your loved one, and enjoy their sense of humor.

Real love means being able to find fun in the mundane things of life with your loved one, from having a beer or two at your local bar to buying a new pet or stopping to get ice cream on the way home.
