Nigeria commences payment of graduates

The job creation scheme N-Power designed by the Federal Government of Nigeria to drastically reduce youth unemployment in the country has fully kicked off.

Names of selected participants of the first phase of the programme were released in November and verification of the candidates in their various states of residence started in December.

According to an official statement released by N-POWER, payment of the N30, 000 monthly stipends for beneficiaries of the scheme has already commenced.

Special Assistant to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Media and Publicity, Mr Laolu Akande also tweeted to that effect.

Some 200,000 unemployed graduates in Nigeria were selected for the first phase of the programme.
