Pictures of Nigerians roasting chimpanzee for meat shock people!

by Staff writer

In Nigeria, and most African nations really, there is hardly a limit to what could be food.

Just two years ago, pictures of a pregnant python killed for meat in Northern Nigeria went viral.

But the recent story about a chimpanzee being roasted for meat in Delta State, Nigeria, seems to be causing more anger.

Humans, chimpanzees and bonobos descended from a single ancestor species that lived six or seven million years ago.

Chimpanzees, just like humans, are primates that share very close physical and genetic similarities with modern humans.

In fact, common chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes) share 98% of human genes and are mankind’s closest living relative.

They are thought to be the most intelligent non-human animal alive today!

Because of the striking similarities in both behavior and appearance to humans, chimpanzees have been called the “cousins” of human beings.
