A woman in San Jose had beaten her husband to death before killing herself, police said.
The woman, Cuc Thi Nguyen, was found inside a car in San Jose on the morning of Nov. 16, apparently suffering from a medical problem.
But after she was transported to a nearby hospital, where she died, officials said she had apparently killed herself.
Her exact cause of death will be determined following an autopsy, officials said.
The body of her husband, Sinh Dung Nguyen, was found last Thursday afternoon outside their San Jose home on the 2100 block of Turnhouse Lane, near Brigadoon Way, said Sgt. Enrique Garcia, a spokesman for the San Jose Police Department.
He had died from blunt force trauma.
Before his body was found, his wife wasn’t suspected of committing any crime, Garcia said, although he didn’t say how detectives came to believe she was the killer.
A motive behind the slaying is under investigation, Garcia said.
It was the city’s 45th homicide this year.
