Nearly 3,000 death row convicts spared in Kenya



 

After freeing up to 7,000 prisoners, Kenya’s president spares nearly 3,000 death row convicts.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday, October 24, 2016 commuted all 2,747 death sentences in the country to life imprisonment.


The president tweeted about his decision to commute to life in prison the death sentences handed down to more than 2,700 prisoners:
