Poem: Fallen Heroes

by Daniel Nkado

Once,
you were firm and round

Great
soldiers of attention

Once,
you were full and sound

Marvellous
attention grabbers

You
needed nothing to stand

Needed
nothing to shine

You
had it all

Got
it all

Today,
you have become sagged and weak

You
have become lined and longer

Devoid
of your elegance

You
easily escaped notice

Now
what you have become

Fallen
heroes

I
extol you despite

My
fallen heroes

  1. Took me a minute to discern what Grandma Edna was talking about. What do you think she is talking about?

  2. Talking about what we use to nurture men and their offspring. We loose ourselves in the bid of doing that, but then we are nothing without them so in them we find us. Good one Grandma.

  3. She was talking about our once endowed, agile, elegant, beautiful……… Mamas! aww! *just thinking of my own fallen heroines….my MUM*.

  4. Now I no d meaning of dis song" forever young" thinking of my old days makes me wanna live forever young. Luking forward to it

  5. Hahaha Dan you won't kill me. Touch your tongue and show heaven your saliva. Laughing real hard by 4:49am.
